Terms of Service

Tap In user terms

These launch-readiness terms summarize the product obligations users must understand before using stake-backed accountability features.

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Stakes And Holds

When a user joins a stake-backed challenge, Tap In may place an authorization hold on the selected payment method. A hold is not a charge at creation, but it may appear as pending on the user's bank statement.

Forfeiture And Stake Redistribution

If a user fails a stake-backed task or challenge under the applicable rules, Tap In may capture the authorized stake and distribute the eligible amount according to the challenge mechanics after fees, disputes, fraud checks, and withdrawal eligibility. Tap In charges a 15% platform fee on stake redistributions, and eligible stake shares credited to users are net of that fee. Stakes are non-refundable once a challenge begins except where Tap In determines a technical or review error requires correction.

Account Deletion

When a user deletes an account, active financial stakes will be captured in full by Tap In and are non-refundable. Pending claimable funds that have not yet been transferred will be forfeited. The profile is deactivated and personal identifiers are anonymized where practical, while posts, habits, proof records, stake records, transaction history, group membership history, dispute and audit records, abuse-prevention logs, and settlement records may be retained without the user's direct identity when needed for financial integrity, dispute handling, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or service security. By initiating account deletion, the user consents to this forfeiture and retention/anonymization treatment.

Group Creator Transfer

If a group creator deletes their account, creator privileges may be transferred to another existing group member. Tap In is not responsible for decisions made by the newly assigned creator, and users who do not wish to remain in a group after a creator transfer may leave the group at any time.

Screen Time API Access And Apple Built-In Capabilities

Tap In may let users create accountability tasks that use Apple-provided capabilities, including Screen Time APIs, notifications, camera capture, location services, and HealthKit-derived proof snapshots. Tap In does not sell Screen Time API access, paid Screen Time overrides, shield unlocks, temporary unblocks, notifications, camera access, HealthKit access, or any other built-in Apple hardware, operating-system, service, or technology capability. Financial stakes, authorization holds, forfeitures, eligible stake shares, and platform fees are accountability terms tied to task outcomes and stake redistribution, not payment for Screen Time APIs or other Apple-provided capabilities.

Verification Data

Tap In may use video, photo, audio, location, HealthKit-derived proof snapshots, Screen Time compliance events, and AI or peer review to evaluate user-selected accountability tasks. Verification data must be honest and must not be manipulated.

Age And Financial Eligibility

Tap In is not intended for children under 13. Users must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement to create or join stake-backed challenges, place authorization holds, receive claimable stake shares, use wallet or withdrawal features, or submit payment and withdrawal information. Users under 18 may use only non-financial accountability features with parent or guardian permission where allowed by law.

Disputes And Corrections

Users must contact Tap In support promptly about suspected task, proof, stake, hold, fee, payout, or account errors. Tap In may review proof, audit records, payment processor records, and abuse-prevention signals, and may correct outcomes, pause payouts, reverse mistaken credits, release or capture holds, or adjust records when needed for financial integrity, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or service security. Nothing in these terms limits chargeback rights, payment-network rights, regulator rights, or either party's ability to bring an eligible claim in small claims court.

Availability

Tap In may change features, limits, fees, verification requirements, invite access, and challenge mechanics during beta, review, phased availability, or later product updates. Financial stakes remain binding once accepted.

Privacy

Tap In's privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy, including soft deletion, anonymized retention, service-provider processing, and Screen Time or HealthKit data use.
